Introduction
Grasslands National Park protects mixed-grass prairie, badlands, coulees, dark night skies, prairie wildlife, and cultural landscapes in southern Saskatchewan. The park has West Block and East Block areas, each with different scenery, roads, trails, camping, and wildlife viewing opportunities.
For a broader overview of the park's history and geography, see the Grasslands National Park Wikipedia page.
Parks Canada links to live bison webcams from Grasslands through its wildlife camera page. Visitors should still check the official Grasslands National Park page for current road conditions, weather, fire restrictions, camping details, and seasonal visitor information.
Wildlife
Grasslands is known for plains bison, prairie dogs, pronghorn, burrowing owls, black-footed ferrets, rattlesnakes, coyotes, and many grassland birds. The live bison webcams offer a way to check prairie wildlife activity remotely, but animal appearances are never guaranteed.
Day Hikes
The Parks Canada activities page lists current Grasslands National Park visitor activities and trail information. Popular experiences include short prairie walks, badlands viewpoints, the Ecotour Scenic Drive, dark-sky viewing, and longer routes in the West Block and East Block.
Camping
The Parks Canada camping page has current Grasslands camping information. Use it for campground operating dates, reservations, backcountry rules, and current restrictions before planning an overnight visit.
Webcam Notes
The Grasslands webcam cards use Parks Canada-linked explore.org live bison cameras. These are wildlife webcams, so they may show quiet prairie scenes when bison are away from the camera, and availability can change with camera maintenance, weather, or seasonal conditions.
