Frequently Asked Questions

Are national park webcams live?

Many national park webcams are live streams or frequently refreshed current images, but some update every few minutes and others may pause seasonally or during maintenance.

Can cams show road and parking conditions?

Yes. Entrance, road, village, and overlook cameras can help visitors check traffic, parking pressure, weather, snow, visibility, and crowd conditions before leaving for a park.

Why is a park camera offline?

Park cameras can go offline because of weather, power outages, network problems, seasonal closures, maintenance, provider changes, or wildfire and storm impacts.

Are the cameras operated by NationalParkCam?

No. NationalParkCam organizes and links to public webcams from the National Park Service, park partners, observatories, transportation agencies, and other camera providers. We do not operate the cameras.
