Introduction
Wapusk National Park protects a vast Hudson Bay lowland landscape in northern Manitoba, including peatlands, coastal flats, tundra, and important polar bear denning habitat. The park is remote, and most public viewing happens through authorized operators, research partnerships, or online wildlife cameras rather than casual road access.
For a broader overview of the park's history and geography, see the Wapusk National Park Wikipedia page.
Parks Canada links to live Cape Churchill polar bear cameras through its Wapusk webcam page and wildlife camera information. The cameras are most useful during polar bear season, especially fall migration periods near Hudson Bay.
Polar Bears
Wapusk is one of the world's important polar bear denning areas. The Cape Churchill webcams are seasonal wildlife cameras, so they may show tundra, snow, weather, or quiet views when bears are not near the camera. The best viewing windows can change with weather, ice conditions, and animal movement.
Visiting Wapusk
Wapusk is not a typical drive-in national park. Use Parks Canada's visitor information and activities pages to understand access, safety, authorized operators, research areas, and seasonal conditions before planning a visit or related trip.
Webcam Notes
The Wapusk webcam cards use Parks Canada-linked explore.org Cape Churchill polar bear cameras. These are seasonal wildlife feeds, and they can be unavailable outside active viewing periods or during camera maintenance.
